On January 25th 2006, one of the Wicked Women Choppers builders, Shelly Smothers-Bonney was killed in a horrific car accident on I-57 In Southern Illinois, along with her daughter Kaylynn, boyfriend Ray Ruzich two of his three daughters, Jesse and Ashley.  Shelly, along with her twin sister Shara were a major part of the heart and soul of Wicked Women Choppers and we mourn her loss.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of their friends and family.

Further details of the accident can be seen at www.thesouthern.com

Kathleen (Blackraven) was struck by a truck on March 31st while pulling out of a driveway. Her bike was totaled and she was almost totalled as well. She doesn't have any medical insurance and we guestimate her medical expenses so far to be around $300,000.00. The Gypsy Riders are sponsoring on May 1st and asking for your help in participating in a ride to benefit Kathleen and/or donating an item to be raffled off.

Kathleen is still in the ICU at St. Joseph's but just yesterday after 11 days they took her off her ventilator and now she can speak. Her injuries are/were life threatening. If you want to know more, please go to to the website www.gypsyriders.com and click on Forum, then General Discussion. There are daily status reports there on Kathleen's condition.

Lift up our Sister "Teeza" in your prayers (Member of the Hurricane Bikers, Oakland, CA). Teeza is in critical condition in Intensive Care, after a motorcycle accident on Friday, February 25, 2005. Send her and her family your prayers and well wishes at Hurricane Riders Guest Book.

Anthony and Lisa that write the column "Hairy & Chaps" for Georgia's Full Throttle Magazine were hit by a drunk driver at 11:30 on Saturday night (September 27, 2003).

As of last night they were planning to do surgery today to reconstruct her left leg. It is broken in 7 places and a 5" piece of the femur had to be removed. They will place rods and do a bone graft. They were able to reconnect arteries, the color is good and she was able to wiggle her toes. All very positive signs of keeping it. Also on Sunday one of her lungs collapsed, but at this point they plan to move ahead with the surgery. She is at Grady in a temporary ICU unit.

Take an extra minute to educate your kids, family, friends and neighbors about being aware of motorcycles. Do your part, ride and drive sober.

Please remember to keep them in your prayers!
