On The Road To Myrtle Beach 2004
"Stella"
1862 miles in 3 days to Myrtle Beach from Las Cruces, New Mexico was some ride! We were on the road from early morning to almost sundown. Frequently stopping for gas was a good thing. From the desert scene on I-10 to the scent of the green grass and trees on I-20 was such a great feeling on my harley. Texas into Lousiana was such a thrill. Mississippi is beautiful. Now I`m really loving the wind in my face and the feeling of freedom as we`re riding through the state of Alabama. As my husband would say, "absolutly wonderful". Our third day going through Atlanta, Georgia was an experience. I will admit, I was scared riding this huge city. The MSF course I took when I first bought Hogett came back into my mind. Now I have the "I GOTTA DO IT" attude. I felt the communication we had while riding went really well. I felt safe and the opportunity to share the open road and such a wonderful scenery kept us going till we arrived at Myrtle Beach Bike week 2004. Every morning we`d ride from Garden City to north Myrtle beach. Riding on Ocean Boulvard was such a breeze.
Back to south Myrtle Beach on Hwy 17 (Kings Hwy) into Murrells Inlet was a great ride. After all day riding and sightseeing, we`d park our rides and walk across the street and spend our evening at Garden City Pier. Sitting at the Pavillion on the corner of Atlantic Blvd. and Ocean Blvd was like watching a bike show. What a sight! Now I`m thinking about the feeling of freedom it gave me to ride all these miles. Now it`s time to ride back. Can`t wait too see Alabama again. Another 3 days of riding back west. Something I could never explain to anyone who dosen`t ride. I`m grabbing my pant leg to get it over my seat. Not wanting to loose the sence of what I want to accomplish. As in any other sport, I knew I was physically able to make this journey.
There was so much going on, everyone on there harley`s and custom bikes! It was so much fun. All the people, as friendly as they can be. The ocean view, the vendors and restaurants and the live entertainment every where we went was so exciting. Barefoot Landing was a great place for shopping.
The effect of the wind across my skin and what I saw and all the people I met and hope to see again. Seeing the desert again was a great feeling. I`m greatful for having a safe and wonderful ride on my HOGETT.
