Real Divas Ride For A Cure
Summer 2006
Summer 2006, Real Divas Ride will take to the road, traveling from the San Francisco Bay Area to New York, raising funds and awareness to aid in the fight to find a cure for Breast Cancer. Thousands of women annually are diagnosed with breast cancer, in California alone; more than 21,000 women will hear the words “you have breast cancer.” An estimated 4,000 will die.
Real Divas Ride For A Cure was founded by Jan Emanuel out of a very personal experience. Although breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in California, the chance of survival when diagnosed early like Jan is as high as 95%.
Real Divas Ride For A Cure is dedicated to promoting early detection, education, screenings and supporting research organizations to continue the quest to one day find a cure and eradicating cancers of all kinds. Proceeds from this ride will be dedicated towards the goal of health fairs and educational materials, wig donations for women enduring chemotherapy, mobile breast examine into segments of society that do not ordinarily seek or receive medical attention due to socioeconomic conditions.
