Who
and What is Divas For A Cure "DFAC"?
|
Divas For A Cure "DFAC" is a
non-profit public benefit corporation established in 2005
to promote Breast Cancer Awareness and to raise funds for
Breast Cancer Research.
- DFAC is a California Corporation and is not a motorcycle
club.
- DFAC is a qualified 501(c)3 and carries all required and
necessary licenses and insurances as a California Corporation
- DFAC is governed and acts under the direction of a five
member Board of Directors

Who
are the Core Group of riders?
|
- The Core Group of Riders are
the Sponsored Riders/Participants, Road Captain and the
Chase Vehicle Driver, who commit to the entire DFAC Motorcycle
Run.
|
What
are the Levels of Rider Participation? |
- Core Group Rider, Road Captain, Tailgunner &
Chase Vehicle Driver:
(By Invitation and/or Nomination, along with a Letter of
Commitment and a Required Deposit of $350 - Potential Core
Group Riders must submit a letter or email of interest).
DFAC reserves the right to refuse rider participation to
any rider and to dismiss any rider/participant who fails
to adhere to the explicit instructions of the DFAC Organizers
and the Road Captain. The established Rules
of the Road will be enforced by the Road Captain.
- Each Core Group Rider will be screened. Core Group Riders
will maintain the Official Published Route & Itinerary
and will share hotel accommodations.
- Total Required Registration Fees: $1,350.00
- $350 - Core Group Rider Registration Only
- $1,000 - Core Group Rider's Required Tax Deductible
Contribution (Can be raised on Pledge Page or Lump
Sum Donation)
- Core Group Rider must commit to ride the entire route:
- (TRAVEL FROM NEW JERSEY TO ATLANTA, GEORGIA TO LOUISVILLE,
KENTUCKY, TO COLUMBUS, OHIO TO MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN
TO CHICAGO, ILLINOIS TO DETROIT, MICHIGAN TO ONTARIO
PROVINCE, CANADA TO NIAGARA FALLS, CANADA/ NEW YORK
TO BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS TO NEW JERSEY TO THE NATIONAL
BIKERS ROUND-UP IN GREENSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA TO ATLANTA
AND BACK TO NEW JERSEY)
- Core Group Rider must be the Motorcycle Driver
(Does not include Passengers - additional rider/passenger
will be required to raise $1,000.00 for the DFAC Breast
Cancer Research Fund and must provide their own expenses
and accommodations)
- Your motorcycle must have a tank capacity that will
allow you 125 miles per stop
- Signed Waiver
& Release required for each Core Group Rider &
Passenger and all participants of DFAC Event
- Each participant must be licensed to operate vehicle
and/or motorcycle
- All riders/participants are responsible for the safe
operation of their vehicle/motorcycle
- Shared hotel accommodations will be arranged by DFAC
along the route and at the Roundup. Each rider is responsible
for his/her pro rata share of the lodging, which will
be secured by Rider's individual credit card confirmation
for double occupancy
- Core Group Rider must participate in DFAC Launch Party,
Fundraising and Media Stops along route, Photo Shoots,
Press Interviews & designated Breast Cancer Presentations
along the route
- Meals, Lodging, Tolls & Gas are Riders Expense
- Each Core Group Rider will receive a Custom 2008 DFAC
Run Patch, Harley-Davidson/DFAC Bandana, Rider Patch &
Lapel Pin
- Each Core Group Rider will be featured on the Rider
Profile Page on the DFAC website with an Online Pledge
Page for fundraising on behalf of DFAC
- Core Group Rider Profiles will also be included and/or
featured in Marketing Materials, on Advertisements and
as a part of DFAC Corporate Sponsorship Media Kit

What
are the Core Group Riders/Participants Responsibilities?
|
2008 DFAC Ride Committee
- Jan Emanuel-Costley, DFAC - Founder & President
- DFAC CEO & Spokesperson
- Responsibilities for coordinating with Corporate
Sponsors, Marketing Agencies & Media Personnel
- Responsible for all DFAC Corporate and/or Legal
documentation and requirements (i.e. Corporate Sponsorships,
Licenses, Insurance and other Corporate Documentation)
- Setup DFAC Booth at Dealership Meet & Greets
and at the National Bikers Round-up
- Promote & distribute DFAC Breast Cancer Brochures
- Promote & sell DFAC Breast Cancer Lapel Pins
& Patches
- Aj Coffee, DFAC Vice-President
- Logistics Coordinator
- Responsible for all Logistics Coordination of
Ride (i.e. Route, Lodging, coordination and/or organization
of Meet & Greets)
- Liaison to the Members of the NABSTMC & Chapter
Escorts
- Also responsible for coordinating media at H-D
Meet & Greet locations
- Official Tailgunner for the Road Captain
- Monitor/Timekeeper for Pit Stops, Gas and Rest
Stop
- Thomas "TC" Costley, National President
of National Association of Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers
Motorcycle Club
- Road Captain
- Provide Escort for the 2008 DFAC Breast Cancer Motorcycle
Run
- Provide daily ride instructions to Core Group
Riders
- Determine the appropriate routes, set pace/speed,
identify gas and rest stops
- Ride Advisor/Consultant to DFAC Organizers (Jan
Emanuel-Costley & Aj Coffee)
- Liaison to the Members of the NABSTMC &
Chapter Escorts with DFAC Organizers
- Les Thomas, 2008 Core Group Participant
- Chase Vehicle Driver
- Drive support vehicle while towing DFAC Trailer
(Toyota SUV & Pace Trailer provided by DFAC)
- Fuel DFAC Chase Vehicle (Funds to be provided
by DFAC Organizers)
- Perform Safety Check on Chase Vehicle (Monitor
mechanical/fluids of SUV, tires and trailer at gas
and rest stops to ensure operating safety)
- Log mileage & gas receipts
- Monitor Core Group Riders and act as a secondary
Tailgunner to the Road Captain
- Maintain contact with Road Captain to ensure safe
distance, speed and equipment monitoring
- Assist with daily booth setup at "Meet &
Greet" locations
- Assist Core Group Riders with equipment and/or
motorcycles in the event of an Rider/Participant
Emergency

- Ride under the strict direction and guidance of the
Road Captain
- Maintain rider position, distance, speed and operate
vehicle and/or motorcycle safely at all times
- Be familiar with and utilize Motorcycle Hand Signals
- Assist with daily setup of the DFAC Booth at Dealership
Meet & Greets and at the National Bikers Round-up
"NBR"
- Promote & distribute DFAC Breast Cancer Brochures
- Promote & sell DFAC Breast Cancer Lapel Pins &
Patches at each designated stop throughout the route and
at the NBR
- Review and have knowledge of DFAC Mission, History and
Purpose in preparation for possible interview
- Be available and prepared to interview with media (Television,
Radio, & Newspaper when requested or designated by
DFAC)
- Monitor and report any riding issues (fatigue and/or
illness, operational and/or mechanical problems that could
result in accident and/or injury)
- Adequate rest, keeping properly hydrated
- Refrain from over-eating during the heat of the day
when en route during travel hours
- Refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages while riding
at ALL times

Fundraising
Requirements & IRS Regulations
|
- Every Core Group Rider/Participants must meet their fundraising
obligation of $1,000.00 (No Exceptions) in order to participate
in this event.
- Food, lodging, gas and tolls are the sole responsibilities
of each individual rider
- The Riders are not allowed to collect funds to finance
personal expenses for the 2008 DFAC Breast Cancer Motorcycle
Run
- Core Group Riders and/or participants are not allowed
to solicit cash tender
- Cash tender can only be received at a designated fundraising
stop
- All (cash) donations must be in the form of a check,
cashiers check and/or money order made payable to: Divas
For A Cure (Memo Line should include the Core
Group Rider's Name)
- All cash receipts must be issued by a designated Officer
of the DFAC Board of Directors
- Only receipts issued by DFAC Officers will qualify
the donor for a tax deduction
- A receipt must be issued for any donation of $250.00
or more
- All DFAC Online Donations must be made through the
authorized DFAC First Giving Online Secured Website
at the following link: https://www.firstgiving.com/divasforacure
- All DFAC Core Group Riders must adhere to these polices
in order to protect the DFAC 501(c) (3) Tax Exempt Status.

Advertisement,
Media & Marketing Materials
|
- To ensure that we are consistent with information distributed
to the general public and/or media, all Advertisement, Media
& Marketing Material must be reviewed and approved by
the DFAC Ride Committee and/or DFAC Board of Directors before
distribution.
|
I have read and reviewed the 2008
Divas For A Cure "DFAC" Website
at www.DivasForACure.org. I have read and
understand the DFAC Ride information, the established 2008
Route/Itinerary and DFAC Rules of the Road which has been
provided to me. I have read and signed the Waiver & Release
provided by DFAC.
